Small Cell Sites

As the number of smartphone users rises, so does the demand for a speedy network. Large cell sites are getting pushed to their limit. Network providers have turned to smaller cell sites to provide a better network among a smaller group of people.

Where are the Small Cell Sites being installed?

Most are being installed on pre-existing structures such as streetlight poles, wooden utility poles, or concrete poles. In certain cases, the structure on which the small cell site will be installed must be replaced with a stronger structure.
Why are they being installed in Torrance?

WHAT CAN THE CITY OF TORRANCE DO

Federal law states that local governments cannot prohibit personal wireless services. However, the City of Torrance can regulate these sites in the following ways:
