It's true. There are coyotes in the City of Torrance and throughout the South Bay. There are, however, measures you can take to prevent coyote conflict.

Feral cats and other unattended animals

HOW TO PREVENT COYOTE ENCOUNTERS

Do not leave food scraps around your residence. Make sure to properly dispose of food.

Keep small pets indoors. If you have let your pet outdoors, make sure you go outdoors with them.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ENCOUNTER A COYOTE

Haze the coyote. Try and scare it by making loud noises, waving your arms, or hitting sticks together.
