ARTESIA BLVD. PARKWAYS

Relinquishment of Landscape Maintenance and Discontinuance of Recycled Water Irrigation
Effective May 1, 2025, the City of Torrance Public Works Department will return the responsibility of parkway grass mowing, maintenance and irrigation on Artesia Blvd. (Hawthorne Blvd. and Western Ave.,) back to the property owners adjacent to the parkways. The Parkway is the portion between the sidewalk and the curb.
When was this decision made?
On December 17, 2024, Torrance City Council approved discontinuing the use of recycled water in the Artesia Blvd, parkways.
Why is this change being made?
This change was made due to cross-connection concerns.
What does this mean for homeowners that live on Artesia Blvd.?
Homeowners on Artesia Blvd. will be responsible for mowing, watering, and maintaining the parkways in front of their homes effective May 1, 2025. Torrance Public Works will continue to maintain the trees in the parkways.
